Blocks

A 6 month ban on a single purpose vandalism account isn't really unreasonably long. If you give them 3 days you are just going to be banning them again every 3 days for the rest of your life. I would never ban a constructive contributor. If they sign up specifically to vandalize they will never be productive editors, they are here to destroy, and if you give them a short ban you might not be there in a couple of days to catch them when their ban expires and they come back to do it again. I have seen someone get banned for 6 months for blanking an article and then 6 months later TO THE DAY blank it again once their ban expired. I noticed the prior ban and lol'd. I guess what I'm saying is that it wasn't malicious, I have just been doing this for a long time and in my experience vandal accounts are better off blocked. If they really want to edit productively, they will send an email to one of us or go on IRC to ask for an unblock. No hard feelings I hope. --Zæg 23:53, 9 May 2011 (UTC)

Sorry for intruding, but did you intend to introduct Wikipedia-style editnotices? If they work the same way here as they do on Wikipedia and Wikia, then you need to modify the MediaWiki namespace:
