The home of furcore, shitty dance music, and hipster beards.

Bandcamp, simply put, is the DeviantART of the musical world. It was founded back in 2007 by Ethan Daimond and his pack of cronies to shamelessly exploit independent musical artists for their hard-earned jewgold without needing to create a record label. It also allows people to sell their merchandise without the use of other sites like redbubble or Etsy. Bandcamp.com is not to be confused with the place where you lost your virginity to your band instructor back in Junior High when he made you play Yankee Doodle Dandy on his skin flute.

In a nutshell

Your average Bandcamp project page

The only thing that sets Bandcamp apart from Soundcloud is that artists can now sell their music with direct downloads, totally not like some other website we could mention. However this is easily worked around, as Bandcamp allows you to play full tracks on their site that can be easily downloaded by any media grabbing browser plugin. It, like Soundcloud, is a harbor for /mu/tants and musical amateurs alike, and can be blamed wholeheartedly for the rise of vaporwave and every creatively devoid offshoot it's spawned since. Bandcamp is also popular among the furfags as a place for them to upload and sell their shitty dance music, including Renard the Rapist and Ken Ashcorp.
