ED Update

So ED is getting an update and there is going to be a need for people on hand to help smooth the transition and tackle any front-end issues that might arise. Zaiger has very recently ordered the necessary equipment and the process will begin soon after it arrives. This is advanced warning, when it occurs do not lose your shit and convince yourself that ED is being ddos'd by Russian cyber agents, because it isn't. New Admins

We have 2 new crats, SeeBeen and Ilovejesus69. SeeBeen is our new sysadmin, so he will be doing all of the technical things behind the scenes, and Ilovejesus69 is the new forum admin and will be working mainly on EDF2. It's a .com-era article, which automatically means it shouldn't be deleted. Right, the edit war appeared to be over the original wording, as it was originally written from a vanity angle. The vanity was removed years ago, however, and doesn't exist in the current version, so there's no reason to rekindle that already-solved issue two years into the future on a false premise of consensus.

I agree the extra help was a good idea. I would personally enjoy lending my hand as a crat. I check everything regularly, and operate by policy and neutrality. Off and on for the last 6 years, I've had my fun as a nude-posting troll, a writer for new articles, a participant in non-existent civil wars, and a janitor improving templates on ED.

Nah, Robin Williams needed to die and deep down he knew it. Have I ever blocked anyone who wasn't a spammer, wasn't a sockpuppet of a banned user, wasn't asking for it or causing trouble, or otherwise didn't deserve it? In fact, I probably unblocked more people and unlocked more articles than the average sysop. The closest things to "critics" I blocked were Mikemikev sockpuppets ("WhaleHunter" being the most recent). If Mikemikev wants to criticize people, he could at least try not wearing a "Please ban me" sign while doing it. Plus, I only wanted to shut them down so I could watch them crawl back to Stormfront and whine, but things didn't go according to plan, although an Orain staff member did fall into an obvious trap, exposing himself as a massive hypocrite who looks after his own interests but not the interests of others. In addition, ED articles are chiefly written from a pro-Gamergate, anti-SJW perspective, so they really don't have much to complain about anyway.
