Immediately after seeing this post, I went ahead and archived this thread. If it isn't the on you meant, we can at least still pull some info from it.
The problem with linking any of this information is that a_man_in_black isn't that hard to think of if you're an edgy 13 year old fuck. I know Oddguy would just love to shoot first and post proof later, but at the same time I don't want myself or anyone else to sort through tons of shit only for aMiB to disprove it in some Boing Boing attack piece (because who would be surprised if he tries to paint himself as a victim of this article) and then cut down an article that was already too dense with information to make it TL;DR. Message from Wikipedia's "The Devil's Advocate"

There is an article on Encylopedia Dramatica regarding "A Man In Black" that contains a supposed image of him, but it is not an image of him. Someone wrongly identified a kid as being the same guy, however I know AMIB's identity with lots of corroborating information and the details don't match up with the kid in the picture. Could you remove the photo?

I see they are asking for proof. While I am not willing to offer up proof of A Man In Black's identity, I can safely say that the kid whose photo is being used belongs to a high-schooler. This archive shows a tweet from a few weeks ago where he talks about being scared about college:

Additionally, there are two people who appear to be high-schoolers as well talking about school and other stuff with him:

The kid's name is extremely common, so there are probably dozens of people you could find by looking up that name. It is fairly obvious that A Man In Black on Wikipedia is much older. Otherwise one would have to believe he began editing Wikipedia at the age of eight or younger, which would only make sense if he were some sort of child prodigy given the nature of his early edits.

Okay then, so this means that we have a few options for just what the fuck is going on, each a combination of binary answers to the following:
  • Are the accounts of aMiB of Wikipedia and aMiB of Twitter owned by the same person?
  • Is aMiB's name is Jared Goodwin?
  • Was BroTeamPill accurate in saying that aMiB is from Canada?
I'm going to shift focus for a moment, and remind everyone of this screencap that I found. We know he wants to cover the indie scene, but as a hobbyist or as a "journalist" (as far as that words gets stretched in gaming). Even though I think that Nackt jumps to conclusions after this important point, since it isn't an uncommon opinion to think that X7 is shit, Nackt has archived some mighty incriminating tweets.
To make a red herring relevant, I fully support the notion that the fatass involved, while still a hilarious looking fatass, isn't aMiB. However, it's not impossible for his real identity to already be one of GamerGate's targets keen on trying to protect his career. This wouldn't be the first massive fuck up Roguestar made. As for why people give a shit, it's probably because he's a combination of Dan Olson and Sarah with a dash of smugfaggotry. He's a pseudo-intellectual that does nothing but obsess over people he doesn't like, and writes long, lengthy blog posts about said people. These blog posts are intelligent enough to have some retards are perfectly happy having him think for them, but at the same time dumb enough to warn even the likes of bottom feeders like Bro Team Pill that he's batshit insane. The difference between he and Olson is that he's not dumb enough to download CP. The difference between he and Butts is that we don't currently have anything that compares to "dogfucking pedophile pirate."
As for the journalist bit, the least you could do is cite what blog you're referring to (some screencaps to fill the Galleries would be nice). Apparently he is/was enough of a "game journalist" that he works/worked for an outlet that has an editor and PR office. Helping to try to quash a consumer revolt against game journalism seems like quite an appealing way to secure a place in the industry before it starts to downsize. Save the whales!
