where to start
making an article from scratch
step:1 decide what you want to tell people or basement dwellers about. step:2 search for that article on ED. step:3 make sure you have all the information you need.
editing an article
step:1 decide what the article is missing. step:2 find the find the information needed. step:3 decide where to insert the information you want to make it look fluent.
don't edit yet you still need to learn manual code editing (don't sweat like a pig, its easy).
manual code editing
- titles
a title is basically a divider that divides the page in categories (example:manual code editing above is a title) the way a title is formatted is manual code editing (two= at the beginning and two= at the end) make sure before and after you insert a title you press enter (if you don't want it to look like shit)
- links
a link is something that will take you to another page on ED (for example: fat is a link) a link is formatted is the word you want to link then with (at the beginning and at the end). if you want the word to link to something else then put the word you want | and the ED page you want to link too (two[ at the beginning and two] at the end).
- images
images are formatted like this File:image name|side of page where it appears (left or right)|thumb|number of pixels ( 100px)|caption you wnat under the image (at the beginning and at the end). fill out the image code put the image code on the page then view the page scroll down where there is a caption box with the image name in red click the red like and browse your files find the image with the same name and up load it. reusing images is simple. find the page the im image you want is on copy the image code and paste it on the page you want it on.

a quote looks like this

if you want a quote the code looks like this (quote|the quote —|the person you are quoting with) two{ at the beginning and two } at the end.
don't fucking do it
- don't post child porn (remember what happened last time).
- don't spam pages with pictures of you're dick (ED is not for Wimmins).
- don't spell anything wrong.
- if the article is about you the worst thing to do is delete it.
- don't fuck up articles by deleting huge chunks
- don't mention yourself if you have nothing to do with the subject
things to remember
ED is about giving information out everything does not have to be funny, so if you can think of a joke someone else will.
