Sorry to bother you, but you were listed as "bureaucrat" under the sysop page so you seemed like the best person to help resolve this for me.

As a n00b I checked Encyclopedia_Dramatica:Image_Selection_Process#Copyrights because I wanted to do things correctly before uploading any images. Among other things it claims "There is a counter balance to copyright law as well, which is what's called Fair Use. In general, as long as you're not profiting off of someone else's copyrighted content...you can do whatever you like with it. ED for example is a non-profit, entertainment based website, so no image content posted here, regardless of where it came from, can really be construed as violating copyright law."

Okay, thought I, perfect. So I uploaded the file Steve_Jobs_afterlife.png for use in the articles Steve_Jobs and Foxconn to both of which I was making minor additions. But then I went to click on "show preview" at the bottom I noticed the boldfaced "DO NOT SUBMIT COPYRIGHTED WORK WITHOUT PERMISSION!" (or is this statement just about the writing and wiki-page data being added to the article?) So I scrapped my open editing and sought help.

So which is it? I'll gladly follow whatever the going rule on ED is but I need help in discerning what the rule is in this case.
