Make Monobook the default skin?
A lot of templates look better with it since that's the skin they were designed for, plus it was the default skin on old ED.
To set it as the default, replace this:
$wgDefaultSkin="vector";
with this:
$wgDefaultSkin="monobook";
To check if it worked, go to Preferences>Appearance and in the Skin section, Monobook should be the default. If not, check for conflicting settings. Also, user CSS/scripts don't seem to work. You probably have a conflicting setting. —MarioMario456 16:22, 9 October 2021 (EDT)

Suggestions
I'm suggesting the following changes to the MediaWiki configuration:
- According to this, editors should be allowed to edit all protected pages; and only editors and admins should be allowed to move pages.
- Either remove the "moderator" group, or make it actually useful.
- Remove MP3MediaHandler (it conflicts with TimedMediaHandler) and UploadWizard (it doesn't work that well for ED, or any wiki that's not Wikimedia Commons).

Problems with the spam filter
You should remove the non-ED (external) spam blacklists. Lots of links that shouldn't be blocked are blocked. For example, I tried to fix a broken link on the Do i have potential article, but it triggered a global blacklist entry (forum DOT bodybuilding DOT org). Is it possible to revert a page to an earlier version and remove the future edits from it's history and revert so they're not obtainable and visible?
Unrelated to the above, regarding the Your Boyfriend page, there was a group of people who'd post about a case they opened and proof that the creators of Your Boyfriend namely Melissa and Jake King were rapists and groomers. The group have since taken down a lot of the information they had posted after over a year of it being up.
