In Praise of Shadows
In Praise of Shadows (Powerword: Zane Whitener) is a YouTube "personality" behind such hard-hitting videos like "The Impact of Gremlins" and "Reviewing Every Episode of Courage the Cowardly Dog". That said, probably the only reason you're here (assuming you're not one of his commie fans) was because he made a video called "Bad Conservative Horror Movies" which basically boiled down to "everyone is a Nazi, and if a Nazi touched you, you become a Nazi, sorry I don't make the rules", and then somehow spreads that out for over THREE FUCKING HOURS.
CHAPTER ONE: The Video Of Honor
If you're too lazy to spare three hours of this trash, I'll summarize it for you:
- Zane went to a horror convention in North Carolina which was too rednecky for him (which, DUH, you're in the fucking South! You might as well complain about all hippies getting sucked off in the Castro if you were in San Francisco.)
- Zane also had to suffer the indignity to have to park and walk to the convention (GASP!)
- He also got some comments on his The Hills Have Eyes video review from Conservatives that hurt his fee-fees
- And because of how butthurt he was about this... Conservatives can't make nor appreciate "good" horror films and therefore aren't allowed to be in that space. QED.
Zane also expressed concerns that his actions would be twisted into making people think he was a cartoonish villian, which—in the process—destroyed his capacity for earning a living wage for the videos he makes. But... I dunno, he didn't need anyone else to do that for him.
Somehow in all of his butthurt ranting which was still totally about "bad conservative horror movies", Zane begins to talk about one Conservative bad guy, Wendigoon, as if Wendigoon examplifies everything wrong about conservatives in the horror movie space. The kind of person that should not be allowed in, because I guess gatekeeping doesn't count when you're the one doing it?
Zane's completely logical points about Wendigoon basically covers:
- Wendigoon is young and rich, so his opinions are not worthy of value (unlike Zane who is young and slightly less rich... y'know, given that he has the privilege to make videos for a living and not having to shovel shit for a living like the rest of us)
- Wendigoon said something on Twitter which he probably didn't say, but it sounds real so it counts (afterall, Wendigoon didn't SAY it was fake, so....)
- Wendigoon once joined the No-Homer's Club back in elementary school, which clearly means he's homophobic. Afterall, it's in their name: "no-homos".
- Wendigoon also wears underwear. And you know who also wore underwear? That's right: Adolf Hitler.
- Incidentally, "wendigoon" is also the name of an American Indian mytical creature who traditionally shall not be named, and therefore Wendigoon's use of that name is cultural appropriation. Zane's jacket and necklace, however, is NOT cultural appropriation so shut up.
- Wendigoon also reposted pictures from Twitter accounts that were seen wearing underwear, so that're ALL Nazis.
- There was also a picture of one of the underwear-wearing Nazis with his grandpa, who is old and white so he was probably also a Nazi too.
- There's Nazi's everywhere! Wendigoon is a Nazi!

- And therefore, because Wendigoon is a Nazi, he is not allowed in OUR spaces. And by "OUR" spaces, I mean, well, anywhere Zane happens to be, because Zane is the one who controls all of horror fandom. He's THE King of Horror... I mean, why would he be making 2-4 hour videos about horror movies if he's NOT the King of Horror?
As you can tell, Zane's arguments against Wendigoon was extremely convincing... and if you disagree with him, then you're probably a Nazi as well.
CHAPTER TWO: Anatomy of a Fallout
Bro seriously thought he was cooking by making this video. Cooking meth, sure. Well, once quick pass with Intelagard's Crystal Clean brand methamphetamine decontamination allows us to break through his trashy nonsense and get down to the real facts. And they are: Communism has infected his brain.
